Cook and Dance
July 2013 (genaue Daten im Herbst 2012)
Cooking and Dancing, Tasty and Healthy, Tradition and Modern, Fun and English! How can that go together? We at Hollererhof, in the Styrian countryside near Graz, aim to combine all that into the most memorable week your child could dream of.
Due to popular demand, this course is back, and it is bigger and better than ever before. Girls and boys are invited to attend this course, which has something for everyone.
Cooking The day starts with harvesting fruit and vegetables such as strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, onions, carrots, herbs and much much more in our bio kitchen garden. Under the instruction of a chef cook small teams will then prepare simple and nourishing biological dishes for lunch or supper. Our main aim is to prove to your children that cooking can be fun and that food can be tasty and healthy at the same time. We will also visit a beekeeper to observe honey extracting, see a local bio-farmer at work and go on a “Wiesen-Kräuter-Wanderung” with an expert.
Dancing From modern break dance (boys), hip hop (girls) to rock and roll and traditional folk dancing! The afternoon dance sessions with our professional instructors give the children immense pleasure and will bring out hidden talents of expression and freedom of movement. At the end of the week, the children can show their skills at the "Hollererhof's got talent" evening.
English Our professional staff are all native English speakers and communicate only in English with the children. In addition there are daily English conversation classes in small groups. The emphasis is on games, role playing and fun activities. Private conventional English lessons for those in need of improving their school English can be provided at an extra cost per lesson.
Activities Any spare time is spent with sport and games such as tennis, swimming, volleyball, table tennis and a treasure hunt. Evening activities include playing charades, a quiz night and an evening dance performance.
DVD At the end of the week each child goes home with a folder of the recipes learnt and a DVD filmed during the week as a souvenir to show to friends and family what fun the week was.
