English Tennis and Adventure Camp (for boys and girls)
July 2013 (genaue Daten im Herbst 2012)
This year we are offering our popular Adventure camp, coupled with Tennis. The day will be split between Tennis lessons and games as well as adventure activities suitable for boys and girls aged 10 to 15, fields sports and English conversation classes.
Tennis lessons will be a mixture of group and private lessons with a professional tennis trainer. In addition, the children will be encouraged to challenge each other in singles and doubles.
Possible adventure activities include:
Climbing wall Graz Under supervision of a professional trainer, the children will be introduced to mountaineering. They are given the opportunity to scale a 20 m wall, enjoy the bouldering area and test their levels of bravery on the highwire course. All completely save.
Hut building Two to three teams will build small huts in the woods. Under the supervision of well trained guides, they will learn how to use hammer and nails safely and will cut some small trees with a saw.
Dance A professional dance instructor will be available for those boys and girls wishing to learn brakdance or hip hop.
Orientation A map, a compass and some instructions on how to use these simple tools and off we go for an orientation run through our lovely countryside! Of course there is always a winning team and lots of experiences to talk about afterwards.
Drachenhöhle A few adventurous boys and girls will walk with a guide up the famous "Bärenschützklamm" and stay overnight at "Steirischer Jokl", a small Berggasthaus built on to the rocks of Hochlantsch. A visit to the "Drachenhöhle," where people lived 500.000 years ago, will end this excursion.
Sports and Games Any spare time is spent with sports and games such as swimming, volleyball, table tennis and a treasure hunt. Evening activities include a camp fire, Hollererhof's got talen competition and a quiz night. See more in "Activities".
Star gazing Not only will we try and see the ISS (International Space Station) when it passes over us at dawn or dusk, brighter than the brightest star, but we will have some fascinating lectures on space and how our universe works.
DVD At the end of the week each child goes home with a folder of things learned and a DVD filmed during the week as a souvenir to show to friends and family what fun the week was.
